ARUM project results were presented during the international conference CSCMP in Samara

On June 22-25, 2015 The XVII International Scientific Conference “Complex Systems: Control and Modeling Problems” was held in Samara. The main aim of the event was to enhance cooperation between Russian scientists and establish closer links with foreign experts in this field. The conference was organized by Institute for Control of Complex Systems of Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCS RAS), with the support of the International Association for Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (IMACS), National Committee of Automatic Control of Russia, and Samara Scientific Centre of Russian Academy of Sciences. Scientists and experts from leading scientific organizations, universities and industrial enterprises of Russia, UK, Germany, France, Portugal, Czech Republic, and other countries participated in the conference.

This year part of the plenary session and the section Machine-building enterprise resource management were devoted to discussing results of a large international innovative project ARUM (Adaptive Production Management), in which Samara software-engineering company Smart Solutions is the main developer.

ARUM is based on several systems. One of them is Smart Factory, a product developed by SEC Smart Solutions which is implemented in several Russian machine-building enterprises.

The project is implemented in a consortium with the leading European companies and universities: European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS (Germany), Airbus (France), Cologne University of Applied Sciences (Germany), University of Manchester (UK), Czech Technical University in Prague, etc. Representatives of these organizations participated in the conference.

The Head of Administration mentioned that the results of the XVII Conference can be applied in many different spheres.

I am sure that this conference will help us to find answers to questions that concern society and authorities. The government often faces certain management crises. I think that new approaches enable us to overcome them successfully. I believe that researches and projects presented here may form the basis for plans of aerospace industry development and performance improvement of executive authorities in our region, said Oleg Fursov.

The Government and the Governor of Samara Region pay great attention to development of innovations in our region, to support of innovative companies which develop complex management systems and artificial intelligence systems. The questions to be discussed here are of great importance to our region and to our country in general. It should make our economics more competitive, noted Alexander Kobenko.

In the course of the conference leading international experts discussed new strategies, methods and means of efficient production management. Russian aviation companies, such as JSC Kuznetsov, JSC Aviaagregat, JSC Aviastar-SP and others, shared their experience of using modern IT-solutions for production planning.

Representatives of foreign companies talked about experience of using modern device technology (sensors, mobile devices, portable devices) for production automation and further development of this approach within the Internet of Things. The speakers also shared their experience in creating and implementing the system for strategic decision-making that was designed using traditional and multi-agent technology.

A project LivingLab was also presented during the section Machine-building enterprise resource management. LivingLab is an online service to which users can connect various systems to compare results and usability.

SEC Smart Solutions shared experience in implementation of multi-agent system Smart Factory for strategic and operative enterprise scheduling. The system provides the possibility to plan production in batches and create workshop deliveries plans in order to ensure interconnection between the strategic and operative levels of scheduling.
